“After this manner therefore pray ye,” and then he gave that prayer
which covers all human needs. The Lord’s Prayer …
DO YOU PRAY— silently on your job
and @ home?

For me a prayer is a spiritually scientific thought and as such a constructive healing activity. Not a formula but a living presence, responding individually to our needs. It’s powered by a divine intelligence that is not for one and at the same time for all. Each need, however similar, demands an individual response and support.
He that dwelleth in the secret place
of the most High
shall abide under the shadow
of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord,
He is my refuge,
and my fortress: my God;
in him will I trust.
…--The Bible, Psalm 91—
In the illustrative language of the Bible, the 91st Psalm gives us a brilliant example of God as the love that supplies whatever individually our true need is. When spiritually perceived, the Psalm inspires in us a greater certainty of the blessings gained from turning to the might of spiritual intelligence or love. Our prayer is our way of communicating with it – it is that turning to something larger than our little humanness with all its methods and tricks.
As we open our heart and thought to the might of Love -- what do we find? We recognize the strength of holiness, wisdom, justice, peace, excellence, and so on. All these mighty qualities are not in conflict with one-another … instead these beautiful tones of spiritual Love enrich us moment-by-moment, at the job and at home, and spiritually enriched we approach God and His reflection i.e. His creation, including each of us -- not timidly but joyously. And that with an expectancy of good. And we discover that He not only gives us a spiritual understanding of self, real peace, and security, but He IS our real security and peace!
I quote: “I am Spirit. Man [generic term], whose senses are spiritual, is my likeness. He reflects the infinite understanding, for I am Infinity. The beauty of holiness, the perfection of being, imperishable glory, -- all are Mine, for I am God. I give immortality to man, for I am Truth. I include and impart all bliss, for I am Love. I give life, without beginning and without end, for I am Life. I am supreme and give all, for I am Mind. I am the substance of all, because I AM THAT I AM.” (Footsteps of Truth/Science and Health, by Mary Baker Eddy).
It goes without saying that to succeed in our prayers, may it be on the job or at home, we would have to enjoy our communications with LOVE so much that we live our prayers wherever we are.
“How beauteous on the mountain
The feet of him that brings,
Like streams from living fountains,
Good tidings of good things....”
