Gratitude
You and I cannot stand still,
Or forever procrastinate, be ungrateful
Or even barren of
Right ideas and deeds,
When our thought and heart are full Life and work are also full
Of the gratitude that moves us -- Because --
It moves you and I forward –
It is a divine Force, Power, and Grace. You could say it
Enriches the thought-soil
To keep it fertile, out of which productive actions grow!
Not those
Fruitless, tired, stale notions
Of thanklessness, but
Those fresh,
Creative, fruitful attributes
Of Thankfulness!
Thought is inner speech.
All human thinking is done
By the inward use
Of coined words;
Therefore the richer a man's
Active vocabulary
The wider are the range
And effectiveness
Of his thinkng.
