Spring is here.
May God’s glad light, harmony and beauty
come with it into your life
and its sternest lessons brighten with
bud and blossom.

Friendship … brings to earth
a foretaste of heaven!
Have you ever observed a plant, a bush, or a tree,
with a capacity to bloom? When the sun shines and a gentle rain soaks all with its refreshing
nourishments, see how these start springing forth with buds in read, white, pink,
orange, peach, purple, or blue. And so it is with each of us, we cannot do and “bloom” without the
sunshine of LOVE, and its gentle rain of empathy, compassion, and goodness. These, and more, we find in a true friendship!
Affections are the clue and mortar that hold together
whatever concrete and strong commitments are in our relationships. As we
cherish our deepest feelings with each other, and even with the world at large,
our communications stop to be redundant.
We express a passion for what is most supportive of each other. And it slowly but surely unfolds as a
friendship caught on fire! At the start perhaps unrecognizable so small the
light appears, but the light intensifies as all selfish yearnings are quenched
and smolder away, and a true friendship, and its great value for two, and
beyond, become the center of affection.
I’d say, let love grow in your heart, and don’t let fear interfere with it.
How did Shakespeare say:
Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds.
Friendship does not control or dominate, at least it
should not. In the truest
sense, if we let LOVE rule, it nurtures and supports each of us. And allows us to be
true to ourselves! A generous loving heart, they say, is the beginning of wisdom. It smiles when circumstances scream, “Cry,”
it smiles when clouds appear in the mental sky, . . . and graciously bows before LOVE, and thus moves you beyond the pain!
A deeply felt friendship enjoys the gentle quietude of
listening -- a listening to the TRUTH of spiritual greatness! Somebody once said that it subdues
mediocre feelings and increases great ones, as the wind extinguishes candles
and fans fires.
Ask yourself, How could you bear to live without the
love of friendship? It takes a
small effort to be there for someone else; a needy individual; a lonely
neighbor; a homeless child; an abandoned creature; a far-off friend; or a person near-by; all of these
give you an opportunity to be a true friend, and to love . . . unconditionally.
Be a friend, may it be to enjoy an intimate
friendship, or honoring a general relationship. Do all you do with a feeling of genuine love. If you wish to experience a true friendship,
be lovable. And trust!

LOVE! What a word!
I am in awe before it.

It is impossible to define love as it is
to define
the infinite – for love is infinite!

Love cannot be a mere abstraction,
or goodness without
activity and power.
As a human quality, the glorious
significance of affections is more than words:

It is the tender, unselfish deed done in secret; the silent ceaseless prayer; the self-forgetful heart that overflows . . .

There are no barriers to a true friendship
where love is the bridge!
