GRATITUDE

You and I cannot stand still, or procrastinate, be ungrateful, or even barren of right ideas and deeds, when our thought and heart and life and work, are full of gratitude … it moves us -- because gratitude is a mover, it moves you and I forward – it is a divine force, power, and grace.  You could say it enriches the thought-soil to keep it fertile, out of which productive actions grow!  Not those fruitless, tired, stale, notions of thanklessness, but those fresh, creative, fruitful attributes of
thankfulness.

Gratitude and humility:

This is what is meant by seeking Truth, Christ, not “for the loaves and fishes,” nor, like the Pharisee, with the arrogance of rank and display of scholarship, but  … from the summit of devout consecration, with the oil of gladness and the perfume of gratitude, with tears of [humility] …
--Mary Baker Eddy, from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 367—

The shadow of ingratitude –
cannot make the sunlight
of gratitude less strong.

Creation:

God expresses in man the infinite idea forever developing itself, broadening and rising higher and higher from a boundless basis.

For the thoughtful there [is no lack or loss].  Many let their happiness die long before they pass on.

–Baltasar Gracian, Jesuiten monk (1601-1658)—

Manners indeed are like the cipher in arithmetic – they may not be much in themselves, but they are capable of adding a great deal to the value of everything else.

God did not promise us we would find the perfect spouse, the perfect house, or the perfect job … He promised us that we would find Him.

Having found Him, surprise of surprises, He will add all the above.
(Perhaps not all … but enough …)

If I were to wish for anything,
I should not wish for wealth and power,
but for the passionate sense
of potential, for the eye which,
ever young and ardent,
sees the possible.
