Humanity --
Thought
Speech
Behavior
Deeds
When we learn the way in Christian Science and recognize man’s spiritual being, we shall behold and understand God’s creation,--all the glories of earth and heaven and man.
–Science and Health, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 264--
Humility does not mean that we should permit others to humiliate us, and to believe by giving our consent to it, we express humility – NO! That is not humility … it is the other side of a coin called pride. Humility is not a “doormat” or belittles itself – true humility means grace, and is a willingness to give credit where credit belongs, and where it’s due – to recognize the good in others, their contributions, and their usefulness, and to say so, and honor each other in the sight of good – in the gentle presence of Truth and Love.
Humility triumphs!
–Eva-Maria—
Humility is no busybody: it has no moments for trafficking in other people’s business, no place for envy, no time for idle words, ….
--Miscellaneous Writings, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 356—
Speech is a mirror of the soul:
as a man speaks, so is he.

“One can never go up, until one has gone down in his own esteem. … it is indispensable to personal growth … Cherish humility, “watch,” and “pray without ceasing,” or you will miss the way of Truth and Love.
–Mary Baker Eddy, Miscellaneous Writings, p. 356-357—
“To pray without ceasing” I understand that to mean, to think correctly, caringly, honestly, lovingly, at all times. Thought is ever moving, like a river toward the sea – and so our caring, honest, loving thought forever moves back to its Cause: to the Creator, or Mind, that is God, and He in turn enriches our thought (prayer), -- and sending it back richer, He thus caringly is good to each of us. What is needed is a more spiritualized thought, through which we more clearly can see it.

a picture from a recent trip to the Thuner See/Switzerland -- it was the only one full day of a mini-mini-vacation
on a business trip. Early in the night, and throughout most of the day, it was stormy and pouring rain.
The heavy clouds and the mist made most of the terrific high mountains invisible around the lake.
I could have been disappointed, and disturbed, but I gave myself permission to still those restless emotions -- and I saw again how powerful an undisturbed thought can be ... because I felt, nothing could take the inner joy and appreciation away of what was present to see, feel, and experience at that very moment, journeying on that beautiful lake.
I’m always spiritually thrilled when we can recognize how to live in the moment -- in the NOW –
undisturbed ...
because then we do experience HEAVEN on earth!

God’s Way is gain that works no harm.

To preserve … amid the uniform darkness of storm and clouds and tempest, requires strength from above, -- deep draughts from the fount of divine Love.
Mary Baker Eddy, Miscellaneous Writings, Preface ix--
Humility is the stepping-stone
to a higher recognition of Deity.
–Miscellaneous Writings, p. 1--
First purify thought, then put thought into words, and words into deeds; and after much slipping and clambering, you will go up the scale of Science … you must strive; and the glory of the strife comes of honesty and humility.
–Miscellaneous Writings, p.341--
… before honor is humility.
–The Bible, Proverbs 25:33; 18:12—

Great charity and humility is necessary
in this work of healing. --–Miscellaneous Writings, p.7—
Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
–The Bible, I Peter 5:50—
the clouds were slowly lifting, and there was a glorious view ...
can you see the birds (or ducks) on the water?
Much love to YOU,
Eva-Maria
