MARY BAKER EDDY

"... How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"

--The Bible. Romans 10:15--

"... to prove what God is and what He does for man. ... working out the harmony of Life and Love.

Christian Science and Christianity are one."

--Science anf Health with Key to the Scriptures, pages  26 & 29--

“In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian Science.  God had been graciously preparing me during many years for the preparation of this final revelation of the absolute divine Principle of scientific mental healing.”
-- Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p. 107—

“I waited patiently for the Lord;
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.”  – The Bible, Psalms 40:1, 7, 8, 10--

 “As sweet music ripples in one’s first thoughts of it like the brooklet in its meandering midst pebbles and rocks, before the mind can duly express it to the ear,--so the harmony of divine Science first broke upon my sense, before gathering experience and confidence to articulate it.
“The divine hand led me into a new world of light and Life, a fresh universe—old to God, but new to His ‘little one.’

“I had learned that thought must be spiritualized, in order to apprehend Spirit. It must become honest, unselfish, and pure, in order to have the least understanding of God in divine Science.  The first must become last.  Our reliance upon material things must be transferred to a perception of and dependence on spiritual things.  For Spirit to be supreme in demonstration, it must be supreme in our affections, and we must be clad with divine power.  Purity, self-renunciation, faith, and understanding must reduce all things real to their own mental denomination, Mind, which divides, subdivides, increases, diminishes, constitutes, and sustains, according to the law of God."
--Retrospection and Introspection, p. 27 & 28
Mary Baker Eddy--

I once read that paradigm shifts are dramatic transformations or leaps of understanding from old limits to new ways of thinking about old problems.
And I would add, solving them more effectively.  --Eva-Maria--

Christ is my only head,
My alone only heart and breast,
My only music, striking me ev’n dead;
That to the old man I may rest,
And be in him new dressed.

So holy in my head,
Perfect and light in my dear breast,
My doctrine tuned by Christ (who is not dead,
But lives in me while I do rest)
Come people: Aaron’s dressed.

--George Herbert--
